Price list
This is the list from the shop counter, reproduced in full. Every figure is a starting price for the simplest version of that job. What you pay depends on the garment, and you are given the real price before any work begins.
Clothing alterations
Six groups, as they appear on the printed list. Prices shown are starting prices.

Two kinds of work are not on the list, because the job varies too much to carry a starting price. Both are looked at first and quoted before anything is agreed.

Quoted on request. The work varies too much with the material and the size of the job to carry a starting price.
Quoted at the counterWedding, prom & party dresses
Looked at first, then quoted. Occasion dresses are assessed for the amendment cost before any work is agreed.

Bag repair
Handles, seams, linings and clasps.
Suitcase repair
Wheels, zips, handles and shells.
Leather repair

How to read these prices
Every figure above is a starting price. A lined wool trouser and an unlined cotton one are not the same hem, so the list gives you the floor and the counter gives you the figure. Nothing is cut until you have agreed it, and if a piece is not worth repairing you will be told that rather than charged for the attempt.
